The
most common type of roof is an asphalt shingle roof, which should last 20 to 25

The
damage is more severe if you see signs of leakage or moisture in your attic, or

is sagging in the shingle lines. This means that the sheathing underneath is
starting to rot.
The
first step is taking out the old shingles. This gets rid of degraded roofing material and exposes any damage or mildew in the deck underneath. All the nails
are taken out to put your new roof on a flat deck. A good roof installer will
dispose of all old roofing material without leaving any debris. The installer
will talk with you about the materials available and the style you want,
whether you want a roof that won’t cost too much to install, or one that costs
more now but will last for a long time.
